Which Keanu Reeves Film Are You Based on Your Zodiac Sign?

Dubbed “the Internet’s Boyfriend”, Keanu Reeves has starred in many beloved films, and has garnered quite the following. Pairing my recent Keanu-a-thon with my extensive knowledge of astrology, I have aptly paired each zodiac sign to its film counterpart – there’s a Keanu flick for everyone. Based on something you can never change, you may dismiss this, but more likely you will find yourself stunned by the accuracy.

Aries – Constantine
Keanu Reeves as John Constantine walks forward with a half black half white background behind him, with angel and demon imagery.

The first sign of the zodiac, a fiery sign to be sure, Aries is filled with determination, passion and the kind of resilience that John Constantine possesses. Constantine follows the story of exorcist John, a man who has made a mistake and is now willing to walk into hellfire to make amends with the “big guy upstairs.” He’s a man of immediate action, externalizing his knowledge, and even taking on the devil himself fearlessly. As an avid astrologer, this film captures the fire sign’s energy in a very entertaining way.

Pisces – The Lake House

Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are pictured dancing together in a front yard

Sentimental, soft, emotional, and set above the water. Fitting for this emotional water sign, Pisces are often called the “crybabies of the zodiac” though I find that Pisces are sensitive and empathetic to other people’s issues, even putting others first at times. In this way, it’s not only how emotional they are themselves, but how open they are to other people’s emotions; the two characters in this movie are willing to talk to someone in another timeline, and let themselves feel deeply and freely without self-judgement.

Taurus – John Wick

Keanu Reeves as John Wick with scars on his face, holds a shotgun in this close up

The ever so stubborn bull fighting for itself and who they care about, Taurus may see something familiar in John Wick. The earth quality makes Taurus crave stability, and though this sign may come off as a little aggressive when trying to obtain that stability, it’s all the more reason to assign John Wick to the Taurus. The reliable, practical, very grounded placement is to be counted on the way that John Wick is expected to be relentless in his mission. The main qualities here are: dependability and dedication; like Wick, they really do stick to their guns.

Gemini – Point Break

Keanu Reeves faces his back away from the camera, and turns his head to look back towards the camera in the rain, outside.

Would it be an astrology article without calling Geminis “two-faced”? In Point Break, Keanu Reeves’ character goes undercover, finding power in his adaptability like a true Gemini. He works well with different groups of people, and always stays on his toes. This quick witted air sign is ready for (almost) anything and excels in all varying settings. Though they may seem “two-faced”, it’s actually a social strategy to make others comfortable especially by being agreeable, and seeing more than one point of view, which can be their strength.

Cancer – Something’s Gotta Give

Keanu is sat in a restaurant with the background out of focus as he looks forward and to the right.

Ruled by the moon (aka emotion city), Cancers are empathetic, nurturing, intuitive, and very compassionate people. Among Keanu’s wide filmography, Somethings Gotta Give feels oddly fitting for this sign. Keanu’s character seems to represent the healthier choice in men, and many characteristics of the Cancer placement. My contention is that Diane Keaton’s character was a fool to choose Jack Nicholson over the lovely Doctor Keanu – but hey, more for us, right? Her choice, albeit poor in my judgement, was her real inclination, what she truly wanted.

Cancers have a strong intuition (this is about to come up again), and this represents the Cancer’s ability to follow their gut feelings. Keanu’s character was already aware of her feelings, as Cancer is naturally in tune with not only their emotions, but other people’s as well. Keanu’s character was sweet and understanding, and was comfortable in expressing his feelings, and seeing what Diane Keaton’s character may not have been willing to see in herself. Doctor Keanu was loyal, kind, smart, truly the ideal man, displaying some of Cancer’s best qualities. I can only hope that after the events of the film, he got a happy ending.

Leo- Sonic 3

A close up shot of Shadow the Hedgehog, with his eyes turning red, looking very intense.

Vibrant, fast, a little flashy with a hint of darkness – especially in their backstories. You may not expect it from this loud, courageous sign, but like water signs, Leos too, have a depth to them, but more often than not, their fire energy allows them to be more active unlike the signs that may internalize their emotions. Leos have a star-power quality and are often strong leaders. Shadow’s character could easily be a Leo, with his striking appearance, his intimidating presence and his natural inclination to take action to carry out his plans. Whether you like them or not, Leos grab your attention and sometimes you can’t help but admire them for their fearlessness in all things.

Virgo – Destination Wedding

Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder hold wine glasses, looking at each other and sitting in a bed together.

While it may be one of Keanu’s less notable roles, Destination Wedding isn’t a bad movie at all. In this lesser known rom-com, Reeves stars opposite his film soulmate, Winona Ryder. The story is centred around the two attending a wedding of a mutually disliked person, feeling rather stranded in the beautful Italian countryside. If you are partial to the ‘bad first impressions’ trope, you may like this film.

The two begrudgingly warm up to each other, bonding over their misfortunes through the overly-intellectualized script. Their characters feel that they’re watching from the sidelines, but they end up finding their own fun away from the middle of the pack, finding more fulfillment in one-on-one action. In true Virgo fashion, they stray from the crowd, not taking an interest in the surface level, the mainstream ideals, and finding their own unique path.

Libra – Speed

Sandra Bullock sits in the driver's seat of a bus as she puts her hand on her forehead, and Keanu Reeves leans in with his hand on the back of her chair.

Seen as the “scale”, a sign concerned with justice and equality, Jack’s story is well suited for the Libra. Again relating to justice, Jack works for the police (specifically bomb squad), and strives to save everyone on the bus, and end the bombers tirade. The opposing qualities of Reeves’ and Bullock’s characters works for the balanced air sign, and when working together, they represent the duality of the evolved Libra.

Scorpio – Devil’s Advocate

Keanu Reeves wears a suit in a dark courtroom.

Darkness lies beneath the surface, but so few care to investigate to get to the truth. Its not strange occult stuff, it’s simply fascinating to the misunderstood Scorpio. This deep water sign (mine) dives for answers, searching for knowledge of the dark underbelly of society. Scorpios can often see through people’s masks, not getting caught up in the superficial or mundane. Scorpios are interested in the spiritual side of things, and all the undiscovered. Prominent themes of sexuality, morality, religion and deceptions in the film tie into the sign’s Plutonian energy.

Sagittarius – Bill and Ted

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter as Bill and Ted stand with shocked expressions.

Bill and Ted, being a goofy comedy works for the light-hearted air sign, Sagittarius. The winter babies love being playful and jovial. The elements of Bill and Ted being a bit prop-reliant or a little flashy at times works in the Sagittarius’s favour – the Sagittarius, despite being an archer, brings to mind dazzling performers – Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish. Sagitarriuses seem to have an eye for the arts, and garnering people’s attention. This worked for Bill and Ted when they saved the world, and could quite possibly be their (social) superpower.

Aquarius – Matrix

Keanu Reeves as Neo stops bullets coming towards him with his hand.

This air sign functions in their individuality, the “I’m not like the other girls syndrome.” Often seen as the humanitarians, or the advanced sign, the Aquarius wants to help mankind make progress towards better things, using their Uranus energy to help propel their unique and outside of the box thinking, they want to break out of the Matrix just as Neo does. Many Aquariuses may struggle with finding themselves as the heroes of their stories and taking on the burden of helping the entire world, but the Aquarius is committed to what they feel called to do for a good cause.
