Jeremy Whitley’s award-winning world, Princeless, has been racking up viewers and award nominations for years. Now, fans have the chance to experience Princeless Book 3, the story that launched Raven the Pirate Princess, in deluxe hardcover form, thanks to their Kickstarter campaign. The book is slated to clock in at 168 pages, and includes never before seen special features.
As described by Action Lab Comics, Princeless Book 3 tells the story of “Princess Adrienne, whose on a quest to save her sisters, alongside the blacksmith Bedelia, find another princess locked away in a tower and decide to save her. But Princess Raven has plenty of secrets and Adrienne finds herself pitted against her deadliest opponent yet!”
The Fandomentals previously had a chance to interview Whitley about his world of swashbuckling, queer lady pirates. Which, really, what more do you need?
This volume of PRINCELESS highlights diversity, strength in self, feminism, LGBTQ+ themes and rewrites classic fairy tale tropes in a way suitable for children of all ages.
Whitley’s other work includes Marvel’s The Unstoppable Wasp and Dynamite Entertainment’s Rainbow Brite. Ro Stein’s credits include Marvel’s The Mighty Captain Marvel and Image’s Crowded. Ted Brandt, often a collaborator with Stein, has worked with her on Crowded and also has credits on Marvel’s Steve Rogers: Captain America.
There are several levels available with a plethora of perks to fit near any would-be Kickstarter’s budget, ranging from $10 (receiving a digital copy of the book) up to $2000 (which sees Whitley visiting a school or library of your choosing to do signings and even hold a writing class, plus 100 books mix or match from the series to sell or give away.) There are also other school and library specific perk options, though while other perks will ship to anywhere in the world, the school/library perks can only go to specific countries.
There are still 11 days left to get in on this campaign, and Action Lab Comics has targeted delivery for September 2019.
