Experience True Fowl Play With Oh My Pigeons!

Oh My Pigeons! is a ridiculous party game of fowl play that is published by Ravensburger. It plays from 2-5 players  and takes about 20 minutes to play. You will need to prove that you rule the roost by getting your bench full of pigeons, but you can play cards to change how many pigeons others have on their board or place more on yours. Ravensburger is known for Disney Villainous games, and most recently has came out with Lorcana and Horrified expansions.

What’s In The Box?

Oh My Pigeons! box
  • 5 Double sided bench boards
  • 50 Cards
  • 36 Plastic pigeons
  • 1 Die
  • 1 Sheet rulebook

How’s It Play?

Ravensburger calls Oh My Pigeons! “a ridiculous party game of fowl play”. And it is pretty much that. The game plays up to 5 players. Each player starts with a hand of 3 cards, and 3 pigeons on their board. The goal of the game is to fill your bench board up with pigeons before another player, and if you do this, you win the game.

The rules are nice and easy to understand. On your turn you play a card from your hand face up into the discard pile and follow what it says. This might be adding pigeons to your board from the supply, stealing pigeons from other players, removing pigeons from other players, or some cards have conditions where any players who has more than a certain number of pigeons have to return some, or if you have below a number you get to place more on your board.

Oh My Pigeons! components

If you have two heart cards, you can play them both together to gain more pigeons which is shown on those cards. But the card that there is the most of, which has the most potential is the “oh my pigeons!” Card. When playing this card, you will roll the die, and you can potentially take 3 pigeons, take 5 pigeons, steal a total of 4 pigeons, steal a total of 2 pigeons, or there is a pigeon poop. When pigeon poop is rolled, you place the die near your bench and flick it toward another player’s bench, if any pigeons get knocked off the bench, they go back into the supply in the middle.

Oh My Pigeons! playing card to take an action

Now, the cards aren’t just offensive cards, there is a “NON” card that will stop a player from taking the action shown on their card. This can stop them from taking your pigeons or stop them from clicking poo at you after they roll the die.

After you play a card, you will draw a card, so you will always end and start with 3 cards in your hand. As soon as a player fills their bench, the game immediately ends, and that player is the winner. If instead the deck of cards run out, each player takes 1 more turn to try to get the most pigeons, and the player with the most at that point wins the game.

The Verdict

Ultimately, this is one of those kinda stupid games that works great with the right crew. It comes down to picking on the player who is currently winning, but then also trying to make steps on how you can place your cards to potentially sneak ahead and win without others coming to pick on you.

Oh My Pigeons! full board to win

This is a game where you will need to target other players. This means you have to be “mean” to each other by not letting others get their board full of pigeons. You will do this by playing aggressive cards to make them remove pigeons off their boards, while you also play cards to gain pigeons on your board. If doing such things doesn’t sound fun for you, then steer clear.

The components are simple but still there is a creative aspects with the plastic pigeons, and then rolling a die and flinging the die that represents pigeon poop. But besides that, its just the 50 cards, and 36 pigeons, and 1 die to roll.

Oh My Pigeons! cards

If you need a small quick game that can be played without burning out your brain, this could be a perfect game to play to battle with your friends and fling poo at them once in a while as well.

You can grab Oh My Pigeons! on Amazon at an MSRP of $19.99.
