Our First Look at Infinity War is Here!

Excuse me, I’m still wiping the drool from my mouth. After nine years, numerous blockbusters, and two Avengers films, Phase 1 of the MCU will finally come to an end. And now we get our first trailer for the movie that will end it, Avengers: Infinity War. It’s here, everyone. The star-studded CGI fest Marvel has built towards since the moment Iron Man hit the big screen in 2008.

As the culmination of probably the most ambitious project attempted on film, the first trailer had a LOT going on and a lot of faces coming together. Besides the expected Avengers themselves (Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk), we also see Spider-Man (what a cool suit!), Black Panther, Black Widow, the freaking Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Winter Soldier, Vision, Falcon, Loki, and probably numerous others I didn’t catch because there were so many.

Probably everyone will appear, and I can’t freaking wait.

Stealing the stage, as expected, was our first look at Thanos in action. Besides looking a lot like a purple Chris Hemsworth (or is that just me?), I have no complaints. And I’m not sure looking like purple Chris Hemsworth is really a complaint. More an observation. He looks awesome, and if you weren’t worried about the threat he poses to the Avengers and Earth, I’d hope a trailer filled with him beating the hell out of Spider-Man and doing…something horrible to Vision might make you reconsider.

Seriously, this is actually happening. After all these years it is finally happening. When the MCU kicked off with Iron Man back in 2008, the idea of a series of comic book movies spanning at least close to double-digit films all leading to one giant epic showdown like this was still nothing more than a pipe dream. Now Infinity War is here and I still struggle to believe it.

Disney and Marvel have taken over the world, and I couldn’t be happier.

Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to begin making Disney billions when it hits theaters on May 4, 2018.
