Pathfinder publisher Paizo Inc. hosted a digital keynote address on Thursday, where they detailed the company’s upcoming plans. The keynote coincided with updates to Starfinder, Pathfinder War of Immortals, Lost Omens and a number of other Pathfinder products that fans can expect in the next year.

Here’s what was unveiled at the Paizo Keynote.

Starfinder Second Edition

The TTRPG publisher launched its Second Edition playtest by releasing several new products for consumers to try in the upcoming months. These include the Starfinder Second Edition Playtest Rulebook, Starfinder Playtest Adventure: A Cosmic Birthday, and Starfinder Playtest Scenarios 1 & 2: Shards of the Glass Planet and It Came From The Vast!

The playtest will run from Aug. 1 to Dec. 31, and players will also be able to test out 6 classes, 10 ancestries, magic items, spells, feats and several other elements. DMs and players are encouraged to send their feedback to Paizo through Starfinderplaytest.com.

Paizo will also be hosting additional playtests in the near-term, according to Associate Publisher Thurston Hillman and Senior Developer Jenny Jarzbaski. Players should expect playtests for mechanics and technomancers to be released in early 2025. The Starfinder Galaxy Guide, which is the first setting book to be released with Second Edition, will be released in May 2025 and offer an overview of the various planets players and GMs can visit upon Starfinder’s full release at Gencon 2025.

Pathfinder War of Immortals

War of Immortals, an upcoming Pathfinder rulebook featuring two new classes, is expected to release in Oct. 2024. The book will provide DMs and players with additional mythic rules, archetypes inspired by myths and legends as well as new monsters to face.

Pathfinder Marked for Prey at Paizo Keynote

Paizo Narrative Creative Director James Jacob also revealed that they would be releasing additional adventures and Adventure Paths that will crossover with War of Immortals.  Pathfinder Adventure: Prey for Death is a hardcover adventure available at Gencon that places players at the center of the inciting incident as Red Mantis Assassins. Pathfinder Adventure Path #204: Stage Fright (Curtain Call 1 of 3) will also kick off the Curtain Call Adventure Path, where the Godsrain interrupt the player’s heroic opera. Finally, the Triumph of the Tusk Adventure Path will launch in Oct. 2024 and pick up in the aftermath of the War of Immortals, as the players seek help from the orcs of Belkzen.

A new setting book, Pathfinder Lost Omens: Divine Mysteries, was also unveiled. This book will remaster previous divine content from Pathfinder Lost Omens: Gods & Magic as well as expand the pnatheon and offer new divine and occult options. The book will release in Nov. 2024.

Finally, Paizo fans should expect to see Godsrain: a Pathfinder Novel, which will be the first Pathfinder novel in nearly a decade. It will follow a group of iconic adventurers as they attempt to stop the release of the Great Destroyer. The novel will be available in Nov. 2024.

Pathfinder Lost Omens: Tian Xia

Viewers were given an overview of the previously released Pathfinder Lost Omens: Tian Xia World Guide as well as new details about the Tian Xia Character Guide. The book will provide six new ancestries, several new heritages and additional character options that draw on Asian mythology and culture.

Other Pathfinder Products

Several other Pathfinder products were announced during the event, including Claws of the Tyrant, a compilation of adventures tied to the Gravelands and Tar-Baphon, the Whispering Tyrant. They also revealed the first Adventure Path of 2025, known as Spore War. This will be a high-level adventure path that will have players clash with Treerazor, a boss-level monster.

This will be followed by Shades of Blood, an Adventure Path ocused on vampires trying to block out the sun in Azlant.

The first Lost Omens book of 2025 will be Rival Academies, which will bring together people from schools across Golarion to compete in a World’s Fair festival.

Finally, the company announced that Pathfinder Quest, a cooperative board game for 1-4 players, had its crowdfunding date pushed back to Spring 2025 so that all of the parts can be produced properly.
