Quebec publisher le Scorpion Masqué (Turing Machine, Decrypto, Zombie Kidz, NOW!…) has announced Turbulence, an expansion for its 2-player cooperative game Sky Team.
From the publisher: In Sky Team Turbulence, terrible weather conditions and technical incidents will be the order of the day for your landings. Take your seat in the cockpit and test your skills in 20 scenarios that are even more demanding! The expansion introduces new rules and new modules, such as Turbulence, Low Visibility, and Alarms, that will add depth and diversity to your Sky Team base game. Now boarding for such destinations as Beijing, Madrid, Warsaw, Sydney, Cape Town, Kiev, and Saint Martin.
Since its release in October 2023, Sky Team has won numerous international awards for its originality and 2-player cooperative game mechanics. Sky Team is currently in the running for the “Game of the Year” award at the prestigious Spiel des Jahres 2024.
“Initially, this expansion was intended to be a simple compilation of promotional airports, but it quickly became so much more! And I’m not just talking about the amount of content on offer (as many scenarios as in the base game!), said Manuel Sanchez, Head of Studio at Le Scorpion Masqué.”Some missions are highly scripted, such as the one where we have to land in Warsaw without landing gear and the alarms on our control panel light up like a Christmas tree, with the various systems failing one after the other. Several new modules also bring new ways of playing, such as Turbulence and Low Visibility, which exploit the altitude runway in a completely different way and completely change the logic of dice placement. These are probably my favorite additions to Turbulence!
Sky Team Turbulence is an expansion by Luc Rémond, published by Scorpion Masqué and illustrated by Adrien Rives. It will be available in stores this autumn at the price of $12.99 USD. The Sky Team base game is necessary to play with this expansion. Sky Team is the first Scorpion Masqué game for 2 players. A game of Sky Team lasts 20 minutes but offers undeniably deep and immersive gameplay.
