Steamforged Games has unveiled further details on Strangelight Workshop, a standalone roleplaying game set in the award-winning Iron Kingdoms universe that’s set to launch on Kickstarter this month. Compatible with fifth edition, Strangelight shines an eerie new light on the Iron Kingdoms, focusing on teams of field agents undertaking supernatural and occult investigations.

Strangelight Workshop book cover

Enter the Iron Kingdoms, a world where arcane science and steam power combine to create wonders that have revolutionized civilization. Yet, lurking on the fringes of progress are dangerous creatures — specters, phantoms, infernals, and eldritch beings.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to assemble a team of field agents. Armed with peculiar prototype technology, quick thinking, and unorthodox methods, you’ll delve into paranormal case files that range from the bizarre to the downright deadly. When someone has a strange problem, you’ll have an even stranger solution.

The Iron Kingdoms TTRPG has won numerous awards over the years, including ENNIEs for Best World, Best Game, and Best Art. Strangelight Workshop takes this setting in a new direction of “Hellboy-meets-Ghostbusters” in a steam-powered world of mechanika and sorcery, challenging players to crack cases and uncover mysteries.

After it was teased earlier this year, Steamforged is continuing with Privateer Press’s plans to bring Strangelight Workshop to Kickstarter, working with the original lead designer, Matt Goetz. This follows the June announcement, wherein Steamforged revealed the acquisition of all Iron Kingdoms titles, including the award-winning wargame, Warmachine.
